Under the title "Better ideas in precast and modular construction", leading experts from the construction and supply industry in the Philippines and Southeast Asia came together again on November 3, 2022 at the invitation of RATEC Asia to share valuable insights and experiences.
As before, the event again took place in conjunction with, but independent of, Philconstruct Manila.
With the recent commissioning of sanitary cell production in the Philippines, it was particularly gratifying to host two speakers representing our client MDC: Romeo T. Menpin, Jr., President of MDC ConQrete Inc. gave the opening address, while General Manager of MDC Precast Division, Milbert C. Payumo provided insights into the "MDC Prefab Journey" in his presentation.
Another notable highlight was the presentation by Lim Chong Sit, a renowned consultant and designer in the precast concrete industry in Southeast Asia, who has been significantly involved in the development of BCA Singapore (Building and Construction Authority), among many other industry engagements, and who is contributing greatly to education in the industry as an author and lecturer. In his presentation titled "Precast Technology Implementation - Some Key Considerations," he conveyed important considerations for the application and implementation of precast concrete construction methods.
Finally, Gabriele Falchetti of MCT ITALY S.r.l. and Raymond Chan of RATEC Asia presented best practices and latest developments from the supplier industry for precast concrete plants. The focus here was on modular construction and various ways of integrating modular construction into building projects.
The RATECA Asia Workshop is becoming increasingly popular and offers interested participants an opportunity to combine Philconstruct with an event that provides them with practical knowledge and an exchange with other industry representatives.
"With the workshop, we give attendees a compact overview of current trends and state-of-the-art production concepts in the precast concrete industry. Based on case studies from the region, they will take away useful advice and recommendations," explains Jörg Reymann, Managing Director of RATEC GmbH.
